I am currently a PhD student at Virginia Tech, specializing in using Machine Learning technologies to solve problems in the field of Phylo-oncology, Genomics, and Bioinformatics. I have also completed my Master's in Computer Science from Virginia Tech with focus on Data Analytics & AI, and my Bachelor's in Computer Science and Engineering (with minor in Bioinformatics) from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). I also have a strong background in software development and cloud technologies, having worked as a Software Engineer at Ericsson for over 2 years, and as a Product Engineer at Seclore for another year before starting my Master's.
I am passionate about leveraging technology to solve real-world problems, and I am always eager to learn and explore new areas in the field of computer science and bioinformatics. Most recently at Virginia Tech I worked on a project that simulates protein interactions in a cell cycle using boolean interaction networks, and improves the model using a novel scoring algorithm. Along with the academic research, I also have extensive industry experience in building scalable software systems, cloud-native applications, and microservices architecture. I often also work on my personal projects or try to contribute to open-source repositories, which you can find on my GitHub profile.
